Simply put, a content management system (CMS) website allows you to completely manage the content within your website. No need to worry if you don’t have technical training or experience with HTML or website design. If you have a little experience with Microsoft Word then you will be able to easily manage your website content! A CMS will enable you to easily add, delete images, edit the page text, and even add pages should the need arise. Daytona Designs can provide you with a fully custom CMS website and we will provide FREE training to get you started! As always, we will build your website using responsive design technology so it will be viewable on everything from desktop computers to mobile phones.
Typically, companies find it difficult to keep their content up to date as often as they should. Failure to update causes your site to become stagnate and your site visitors are getting out of date information. When this happens they may turn to other sources and this could have a very negative effect on your business! A CMS website will also save you time and money. You will no longer have to call your web design agency or IT department when site changes are necessary. Your CMS will allow you to quickly and efficiently publish important information.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to CMS. The type of CMS that is right for you will depend on your budget, skill level, and what you need the site to do. The three most widely used CMS’s are Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal. All three systems are open source platforms so they are continuously being improved to support new Internet technologies. We can fully customize all three platforms to your specifications. Here is a brief summary of each CMS:
Drupal - Drupal requires the most technical knowledge but it is also capable of producing the most advanced websites. It’s a powerful tool for building complex sites but it requires an added level of expertise and experience to operate. If you can’t commit to learning the software or can’t hire someone who knows it, it may not be the best choice.
Joomla - Joomla is less complex than Drupal and it’s also easier to learn and more user friendly. Joomla allows you to build sites with more content and structure flexibility and it’s fairly easy to use. Joomla also supports ecommerce, social networking and much more.
Wordpress - Wordpress requires little to no technical experience. Its ease of use is a key benefit for both experts and novices. It’s powerful enough for web developers to build efficient, functional sites yet still allows clients to manage with very little instruction. Wordpress makes deployment of simple sites an easy task.
Even though a CMS will enable you to manage your site you will need a professional web design company to design and develop it.
